YACWA is proud to announce the launch of our Pre-Budget Submission for the 2023-24 WA State Budget, titled A New Agenda for Young People in Western Australia.
This document sets out a series of pathways and solutions for the State Government, with the intention of fostering a clear strategic vision for coordinated action and investment to address gaps in support for young people in the community.
We have designed these recommendations to be tangible, practical, and staged – to ensure a sustainable and vibrant youth sector.
These are spread across four key Pillars of Change:
1. Breaking down barriers by addressing critical gaps in the youth sector.
2. Improving local service provision by enhancing existing service delivery.
3. Preventing vulnerability by investing to prevent disadvantage before it emerges.
4. Building regional capacity by empowering locally-based support for young people in regional WA.
Over the coming months we will be reaching out to key decision makers to talk through our proposals in detail and ensure investment to tackle the issues facing young people in WA is strongly represented in the 2023-24 State Budget.
We wish to thank the young people, youth workers and other individuals who generously gave their time to inform the messages contained within this submission and we look forward to keeping you updated on our advocacy efforts in the new year.
