Youth Work WA

Youth Work WA is the professional association for Youth Workers, created to celebrate the incredible impact they have, and to establish a secure future for quality Youth Work practice and education in Western Australia.

“Youth work is a practice that places young people and their interests first. Youth work is a relational practice, where the youth worker operates alongside the young person in their context. Youth work is an empowering practice that advocates for and facilitates a young person’s independence, participation in society, connectedness and realisation of their rights”

Australian Youth Affairs Coalition, National Definition of Youth Work, 2013

They achieve this by maintaining and developing the Code of Ethics for Youth Work, delivering training for professional Youth Workers, setting standards for Youth Work practice and education in WA, and through the WA Youth Work Awards.

Their committee is made up of volunteers, and their association is not-for-profit.
