The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is collaborating with Red Cross WA on a co-design project that explores the needs of young carers living in Western Australia to develop ideas and solutions to the challenges they face. We are looking for five creative young people with lived experience of being a young carer to join our core team as youth consultants.

The Youth Pride Network is hosting it's first event; an LGBTIQA+ all-ages gig night featuring local LGBTIQA+ musicians! If you are an LGBTIQA+ musician or performance artist under 25 we need you! All experience levels are encouraged to get in touch!

He's the winner of the WA Young Person of the Year (2017) award, and he hasn't slowed down since! Matt Bill (WA Young Person of the Year 2017) has just returned from an epic one-month drive around Western Australia (visiting over 20 towns!) and collecting the stories of young people, giving them a voice and capturing footage to create a deadly documentary raising awareness and highlighting the wins, as well as the collective issues young people experience in regional WA.

We are looking to employ a MYAN WA Training Coordinator to develop and deliver cultural competency and cultural intelligence training, and also up to six passionate youth consultants to co-design and co-deliver the two training packages!

The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) shares the concerns of many others in today's news reports of incidents of student-on-teacher violence in the South West.

There is an urgent need for the sector to respond to the physical, psychological and emotional needs of children and youth who have experienced trauma. Research indicates that adopting a trauma-informed approach to service delivery supports healing and empowers our young people.

The Western Australian Minister for Youth, Hon Peter Tinley MLA, the Department of Communities and the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) are offering twelve young Western Australians aged between 18 and 25 years the opportunity to participate in an exchange program between Hong Kong and Western Australia in October 2017.
